Sunday Morning Man: Billy Miller!
Billy Miller of The Young and the Restless is one of the five actors nominated for outstanding supporting actor at tonight’s Daytime Emmy Awards.
He’s played Billy Abbott on the soap since 2008, a role he landed after two years on All My Children as Richie Novak.
The 30-year-old star initially planned for a career as a writer-director-producer but got bitten by the acting bug while a student at the University of Texas in Austin when he had to step in and star in his senior thesis project after an actor backed out.
Billy told Soap Opera Digest that he might be attending tonight’s Emmys in Las Vegas on his own: “I was trying to figure out if my parents wanted to go but they might have a viewing party at their house in Texas.”
Of the Emmys being in Vegas, Billy said: “I think there is more of an outside chance that if someone is looking for me during the ceremony, I might be asleep next to Jeanne Cooper at a blackjack table. But I’m hoping to avoid that situation.”

Who cares if Billy Martin is gay or not, he is a gifted actor, plus he is extremely handsome and seems like a decent person. Why should it matter at all what his sexual orientation is. I believe that he could become a full fledge movie star if he is given a chance. I am 68 years old, and would love to have a son who was as good a human being, and as great an actor as Billy Martin is. I have never had children, but I would be ever so proud if Billy Martin was my son, gay or not gay. I am sure that his own parents are very proud of him. Most Sincerely, Jolene Beth Morgan

If this dude Billy is gay, well, he’s a credit to the gay “race”. He is so non-cookie cutter, it’s refreshing. He is hilarious, always full of surprises. He is also great looking, in a very original way. Love him and glad to see he is staying on Y and R for awhile, even though he would be a credit to any nighttime show, perhaps best on a serious show as a whacked out kind of character-his humor can be quite subtle and wry.
