Steve Grand not pleased with all the attention he’s getting for wearing a skimpy bathing suit

All-American Boy Steve Grand did an interview with Underwearnewsbriefs.com and he defended his wearing of bikini briefs.

The interview got picked up everywhere and Steve remarked on Monday on Twitter: “Must be a real slow news day.”

Now he seems further annoyed in this tweet he just posted: “Would be nice if any other aspect of my life/work as artist/advocate got a fraction of the press I get 4 wearing a bathing suit by gay media.”

Okay, so people are going crazy over the underwear.

But much, very much, has been written about Steve and his music over the past two years from his debut video that went viral to his historic Kickstarter campaign to the release of his debut album.

Steve needs to ignore the haters and to keep some perspective. Even Bruce Springsteen got a lot of coverage for his buff bod in the 1980s during his Born in the USA era.

Update: Here is the entirety of Steve’s comments from his Facebook page.

An excerpt: I hate being made to feel like a victim but even more, hate to feel misunderstood. I feel so much compassion for my LGBTQ brothers and sisters, many of whom are damaged in all kinds of ways from the world we were brought up in, but I feel so much anger for the way I see how quick we are to judge and hurt one another.

    K. Martinez says:

Hey, Steve! If you can’t stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. And it’s when they stop talking about you at all, that your career will be dead in the water.

    Tom Nunnery says:

I see nothing wrong or indecent about a man’s swimwear if he looks good in it.And, of course, Steve Grand can do it. Don’t pay any more attention about what others think.Good luck in your music career.

  6. When you’re in the public eye, you have to learn to take the bad with the good even more so than the average person. That said, I can’t imagine anyone saying anything negative about this man because he’s in Speedos. He’s quite adorable.

  7. This is a really funny article. If he doesn’t want to be viewed a “beefcake” then I suggest he doesn’t dress as one. What people perceive they believe.
