Snapped! Greg In Hollywood 5th Anniversary Party!
Sorry for the lack of posts today, I’m still recovering a bit from last night’s Greg In Hollywood 5th Anniversary Party at Al Bacio Restorante in West Hollywood.
No, I’m not hungover – from alcohol at least.
I’m hungover from all the love and support from friends who showed up to celebrate this milestone and to raise some money for the Los Angeles chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association.
I’m finishing my third – and final! – year as president at the end of July and wanted to mix the celebration with a good cause which is raising scholarship money for NLGJA-LA!
No, I did not arrive in a limo – my friend Frank Groff did with a group of eight awesome people and they insisted I re-enact my arrival for the cameras. In truth, I was in the paid lot across from the old Tower Records!
Frank was instrumental in setting up the event at Al Bacio which generously provided us with free appetizers and wine and champagne then donated $10 from every dinner to NLGJA-LA.
My compliments to the awesome chef Christian Simoniato and to manager Kevin Lepisto and the rest of the staff for being first-rate.
My great friend Jim Key, yesterday’s Morning Man, arrived in time to give a magnificent toast – a tribute I will never forget and for which I will be forever grateful.
Jim said a lot of great things about the site and my LGBT coverage and even managed to work Days of Our Lives in there!
Jim was not the only Morning Man present. Darryl Stephens, most recently featured last March, showed up and really lent some star power and Hollywood glamor to the occasion. He’s as nice as he is handsome and I appreciate his support so much.
Most of all, it was just really great to share this occasion with really good friends who all seemed to have a great time and made the occasion a night to remember.
