Showtune Sunday: Streisand, Menzel and Lea Michele singing their versions of “Don’t Rain on My Parade”
Hurricane Sandy made me think of this song.
Be safe everyone!
Here is the glorious Barbra Streisand in the Don’t Rain on My Parade number from Funny Girl.
Also included Lea Michele and Idina Menzel performing the number.

Give it up for Barbra..she’ll always will own that song.
Lea Michele is number 2, brought more passion as intended to the song than did Idina Menzel.
babbitty lil' snob says:
The problem is, whoever sings it, always misses the essential “build” that is written into the song. Barbra captures it completely and Wyler’s depiction of it is high-lights it. Most singers start it at 100% with no where else to go. If you do that, no matter how good your voice is, you’ll miss the great “thrill” that the song can inspire.

I remember being college I was extremely suicidal. Barbra Streisand’s version of this was one of the things that helped me give me the incentive to get through that period. In fact without it, I literally might not be here today! Thanks, to Ms Streisand many years later.
