Showtune Sunday: “Glee” does The Beatles

Glee has aired its two-part Beatles episode over the past two weeks and there are some real musical gems in there.

I have picked the three numbers that I liked the absolute most although there are plenty of others that I quite enjoyed as well.

The first two numbers are all about the love of Blaine and Kurt and they just made me feel so happy. Happy mostly because I know they are on national television and I know there are plenty of gay kids out there watching and for them, here are images of love that they can take with them as they look ahead in life.

Kudos to Darren Criss and Chris Colfer for being first-rate, as usual.

The third video is Lea Michele singing Yesterday as she walks around New York City. It’s a bit haunting because we know that this is a young woman who over the summer lost not only her main co-star but also her real-life boyfriend.

One Remark

  1. These are the standout numbers from the two-part episodes. Too bad most of the great Beatles tunes felt thrown-in to further the plot.
