Showtune Sunday: Enjoy a series of little-seen performances by the great Patti LuPone who reads this blog regularly already knows that I worship the ground Patti LuPone walks on.

She’s such a great talent, such a diva, such a star.

While I’ve seen her perform live three times and seen videos of her performing songs from her Tony winning roles in Evita and Gypsy as well as such shows as Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd and the concert production of Company, it was fun to surf YouTube a bit and find a bunch of performances I had never seen before.

There are some gems! From Patti, as Libby Thatcher on Life Goes On, singing Broadway Baby to Patti guesting on The Tonight Show with Joan Rivers shortly after she won the Olivier Award for her performance as Fantine in the original production of Les Miserables. She passed on taking the role to Broadway.
