Showtune Sunday: Elaine Stritch would like to propose a toast to the “Ladies Who Lunch”

Elaine Stritch sings her signature song Ladies Who Lunch from Company.

I just love it! Got the chance to ask her last fall if she ever gets tired of singing the tune. She said: “I want to sing Ladies Who Lunch once in awhile. I did it every night for two-and-a-half years so I’d like to make the spaces larger between renditions.”

I personally never get tired of watching this from the opening line of “I’d like to propose a toast” to that great finale: “Everybody riiiiiiiiiiiiiise! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiise! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise!”
