Showtune Sunday: All about Tyne Daly!

I took this photo of the great Tyne Daly five years ago at the annual STAGE benefit for AIDS Project LA and on that night she absolutely floored us with her performance of Rose’s Turn from Gypsy – the musical revival that won her a Tony Award in 1989.

Audiences who know Miss Daly best for her long-running and Emmy winning roles on Cagney & Lacey and Judging Amy (plus two years and another Emmy for Christy) may not be fully aware of what a Broadway diva she is.

I love watching her sing because she’s such a great actress and is never merely singing. She is delivering a full performance.
