After some lean years, Miss McGovern re-invented herself as a stage actress appearing on Broadway in The Pirates of Penzance and Little Women as well as on off-Broadway and in regional productions.

Although I understand featuring her number one hit and her stage work – after all, the title of your piece is “showtune Sunday”, LOL – “Different Worlds” will always be my favorite McGovern song. As the theme song for “Angie”, a sitcom I loved when I was young, it was great. But even apart from the show, every time I hear that song, it’s so inherently cheerful it lifts my spirits. Maureen McGovern, count me as one of your millions of fans!
