Showtune Sunday: All about a musical Meryl Streep

I guess it isn’t enough that three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep is the greatest dramatic actress of her generation or perhaps any generation = no matter what Donald Trump says! She can also do comedy as evidenced in The Devil Wears Prada, It’s Complicated and Death Becomes Her.

Oh, and by the way, Meryl can also sing.

But not in her latest film Florence Foster Jenkins in which she plays a woman dubbed ‘the world’s worst singer’ and believe me, it seems tougher for Meryl to sing so badly. The film is a gem and I highly recommend. Anyway, here are some musical numbers from Meryl’s films in which she was allowed to sing beautifully. They include numbers from Into the Woods, Death Becomes Her, Mamma Mia, A Prairie Home Companionand Postcards From the Edge.

Enjoy!
