“Sex and the City” Saturday: Scenes from the friendship of Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbs
The friendships between Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are obviously at the core of the Sex and the City franchise and each of these women have unique relationships with each other.
But it is the friendship between Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) that I have always been the most attracted to. The sardonic Miranda is just such a perfect fit with the witty Carrie and you can sense the closeness between them in such simple things like eating cupcakes or walking down the street together.
And when it comes time to tell each other the truth – about themselves or each other – they do it and they might fight, but they find their way back to each other.
When Miranda was giving birth to Brady, it was Carrie who she wanted holding her hand in the delivery room. And when Miranda’s mother died, it was Carrie who jumped out of the pew at the church as the procession p;assed and walked her friend down the aisle telling her, “You’re not alone.”
Love, love, love these two characters. Here are some scenes from their friendship:
