See “Red Dress Day” video from AIDS LifeCycle

This is an amazingly cool video that my pal Jim Key just sent me. Jim is on the road doing media for AIDS/LifeCycle and yesterday was the annual Red Dress Day.

Some were dressed as Catholic Cardinals (to “pray the gay way” ha!), some as Little Orphan Annie and there was an assortment of Little Red Riding Hoods.

The red wardrobe was brought out on the fifth day of this week’s 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

The riders pedaled their way through small towns in the central part of California in eye-catching red dresses and outfits.

Some even pedaled the 100 miles in pumps! (Whoever did that should get some extra money from their sponsors!)

The idea is for the cyclists to create a human AIDS ribbon in motion as they pedal a winding route.

This year, the more than 2,700 cyclists raised a record $14.2 million for the LA Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. They finish their ride when they arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday.
