See “Love, Simon” star Nick Robinson on Kimmel

Love, Simon had a solid $11.7 million opening at the box office this weekend and my hope is that this sweet, fine film has some staying power and continues to bring in audiences for weeks to come.

The star of the movie, Nick Robinson, is wonderful in the movie and paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live last week to promote the movie. I’ve just seen the clip this morning and want to share it with you now.

One Remark

  1. Nick Robinson is terrific and touching in ”Love, Simon,” and a wonderful straight ally to boot. (He has a gay brother who came out to him as he filmed the movie.) But this has to be the worst interview by Jimmy Kimmel, who clearly didn’t even see ”Love, Simon,” and seems to assume it’s just another high-school movie. Besides wasting half of the segment on Nick’s mom and roommate, Kimmel never brings up what ”Love, Simon” is all about: Hollywood’s first mainstream movie about a gay teen’s coming out. What a shame. ”Love, Simon” is like a modern-day John Hughes movie: a teen rom-com that could appeal to most everyone, but this interview fails to do it justice. Please support this fantastic film by seeing in the theaters NOW, or you might not get another.
