See Kathy Griffin on “Real Time With Bill Maher”

Here is Kathy Griffin’s appearance from last Friday with Bill Maher. I have not watched it yet but thought I’d post it and get some feedback from you all. I had no doubt that Kathy would be able to resume her career in the US after the headless Trump controversy. The whole incident gives her a new edge and could end up helping her in the end although, to be honest, I most like when she’s dishing about celebrities in her act.

  1. I’ve never been a fan of hers to be honest. But, after this insane vilification for speaking out, even if in a tasteless way, I have at least hoped she’d get back on track.

The sheer fact the idiots on the right were able to ruin a career after so many of their own had done similar and it was just “free speech” really, really pisses me off. The problem is that most of us don’t vote as often as we should.

It’s time to stop being apathetic and to start voting each and every time we can. Vote for the least worst option and then vote at the local level for up and coming, new parties, and so on. Change takes time but we can’t just give up in the meantime .

I sure do love what Bill Maher said in the beginning of the video. I love Kathy and have totally supported her from the beginning. She sure found out who her friends really were. I think she will come back better and stronger than before. Good for her.

@Chip, I don’t get the apathy some have when it comes to voting. Especially now when the times are more dangerous that ever. Ever since I became eligible to vote fifty years ago, I’ve voted at every election on the national, state and local levels. All levels of government count when it comes to electing those who represent us! For me, it’s too important not to participate in the elections process.

    Paul Gilbert says:

I really hate it when this woman comes to the defense of the gay community. She does not speak for me or my husband. The woman is coarse, vulgar, and mentally unstable. Case closed.

  4. @PaulGilbert I concur. I had the opportunity to both interact with and observe her three or four times while living in L.A. Each time, she was nastiness personified. Each time I was saddened by her lack of grace and generosity. She was instead very mean, self serving, petty, entitled and bullying. She seem to be attempting to wield and/or leverage some imagined level of celebrity clout that she clearly did not possess. She was a nightmare. I’d never considered that she may have mental health issues, but that would shed some light on her behavior. I would imagine that those who befriended her (and then ditched her) seized the first chance that presented itself to be rid of her. My own sense of humor can be dirty, irreverent, borderline sacreligious, dark and twisted. Having said that… Yeah… she’s always made me cringe.
