Saturday Morning Man: Daniel Gimeno-Traver!
I thought I was aware of pretty much all of the hot Spanish tennis players on the pro tour.But when Daniel Gimeno-Traver walked out to play his match at indian Wells Friday against James Blake, I’d never heard of him before.
I really enjoyed watching him play – he’s very scrappy and very cute! He lost to Blake in straight sets but gave a good fight.
He’s currently ranked just inside the top 100, far below top Spaniard Rafael Nadal and such stars as Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez.
At 24, he’s got some prime years left to still makes an impact and I wish him luck!
