Ryan Carnes returning to ABC’s “General Hospital” as the gay character of Lucas Jones
Looks like I’m going to have to start watching General Hospital on a more regular basis.
Ryan Carnes, the cutie pie from Desperate Housewives and the first Eating Out movie is returning to the ABC soap as the gay character of Lucas Jones, soap guru Michael Fairman reports.
Lucas is the adopted son of Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) and Tony Jones (Brad Maule) and the biological son of Julian Jerome (William deVry).
Carnes originated the character and last appeared on GH in 2004-2005.
The character has been played by other actors since then but not recently.
Ben Hogestyn was in the role when the character came out as gay to his family and friends.
It was recently mentioned on the show by Bobbie that Lucas was living in Seattle and was still looking for the perfect man.
It’s not known how or if Lucas will be involved with the show’s other gay characters of Felix (Marc Anthony Samuel) and Brad (Parry Shen).
Desperate Housewives fans know Ryan from his stint on the show where he initially played a gardener hired by Gaby (Eva Longoria) then becomes the boyfriend of Andrew Van de Camp (Shawn Pyfrom).
He got his first big break in the role of Lucas on GH soon after graduating from Duke University. He went on to have roles in such films as Leaving Barstow (directed by Peter Paige) and Suicide Dolls and has guest starred in many television series including The Closer, Bones, NCIS, CSI: Miami and starred in the 2009 miniseries The Phantom.
