Rosie O’Donnell to exit “The View” next week to focus on her kids after splitting from her wife

I’m so sorry to hear that Rosie O’Donnell is leaving The View next week.

I had stopped watching the show regularly years ago but started again because Rosie is not only smart and funny, but she often makes news with her outspoken views.

Her departure comes less that six months after rejoining the ABC daytime talk show which she moderated during the 2006-07 season.

This development comes at the same time as an announcement that Rosie has split from wife Michelle Rounds.

The mother of five children wants off the morning grind to focus on her family.

I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November,’ Rosie’s rep Cindi Berger tells the New York Post’s Page Six.

‘Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention,’ Berger adds. ‘This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View.’

Berger said next week will be Rosie’s last as a regular co-host.

ABC has released a statement confirming the departure.

‘Rosie is an immensely talented star who comes in each and every morning brimming with ideas, excitement and passion for the show,’ the network stated. ‘When she told us she wanted to exit The View, we respected and understood her desire to put her well-being and her family first.’

They added: ‘We’re delighted she’s still part of the ABC family with upcoming guest appearances on The Fosters, and we know she’ll return to The View often with her unique point of view and updates on her work and her family.’

6 Remarks

  1. Good riddance!

  2. I’m sorry to hear about Rosie too. I really wanted her to catch a break in her personal and professional life. Best of luck to her.

  3. @Joe-That was just rude.

  4. Very sad. I wish her and her family well.

  5. Oh well…there’s still the other Rosie. I prefer a fiery Latina more than this brash stand-up comic.

  6. I have no problem with Rosie being gone. She’s irritating.
