Rose Marie could belt out one helluva number

Featured Rose Marie just last month on Showtune Sunday. With her passing earlier today, here is the post again in its entirety: At 94, suddenly the great Rose Marie is all the rage again and I love it. The woman who literally has had the longest career in showbiz history was a major child star at 4 – major – and was billed then as Baby Rose Marie. She later played comedy writer Sally Rogers for five seasons on television classic The Dick Van Dyke Show and was a regular for 12 years on the original Hollywood Squares. She was the first major star to be known simply by her first names and is the subject of the new documentary film Wait for Your Laugh which features interviews from numerous co-stars, including Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, Peter Marshall and Tim Conway. She could belt out one heckuva number as a kid and certainly as an adult. Here are a handul.
