Roger Federer talks about his US Open quarterfinal loss to 2009 champion Juan Martin del Potro

Very disappointing for Roger Federer fans to see our guy fall in the quarterfinals to 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro. It would have been a dream for Fed to add a third 2017 major to go along with his Wimbledon and Australian Open crowns. In this post-match press conference, he reflects on what went wrong.

2 Remarks

  1. When he went 5 in his first couple of rounds it was obvious he wasn’t freely flowing. Shame because a Roger Rafa semi would have been another classic but all credit to the hot gentle giant Del Potro-he played aggressive tennis and didn’t let up.

So Juan Martin-you better bring it against Rafa capice!

  2. It is sad that he lost.
However, I have much faith in him, and once again when he speaks my high regard from him is justified. Any more wins/losses matter less to me than the fact that I got to watch his career. I remember resenting him when he first came on the scene, because I adored Pete Sampras. But I came to love and appreciate his tennis and his personality. Will always love Roger.
