Roger Federer loses at Wimbledon

Roger Federer Of Switzerland SpeaksCHAMPION FALLS: For the first time since 2002, Roger Federer has lost before the finals of Wimbledon! The six-time champion lost to Thomas Berdych in four sets earlier today in a shocking result that has people wondering about the future of the man many consider the greatest tennis player of all time.

With the loss, Federer will drop to No. 3 in the ATP rankings next week for the first time since Nov. 10, 2003. He has not won a tournament since the Australian Open in January and was clearly devastated by the loss.

Also devastated is sure to be Andy Roddick who has lost to Federer four times at Wimbledon but came close to victory in last year’s classic five-set final. Roddick finally could have avoided Federer but he himself lost in the fourth round.

It’s been a wacky Wimbledon!

2 Remarks

  1. Maybe I’m just an eternal optimist, but I believe Roger still has several good years ahead of him. He’s only 29 … there are still good days ahead.

  2. Oh well, he came in as the winner, but, just couldn’t find his way, I’ll skip the rest of the men’s action as I don’t care for any of the players left, but, I’m left to ponder, will Roger stick around for the next year or so? I don’t think he will if he can’t win the big ones.
