Ricky Martin signs TV deal!
Ricky Martin may have come to fame as a member of the band Menudo and gone on to become a solo singing superstar, but the openly gay performer also has some acting chops to fall back on.
Martin was once a regular on the ABC soap opera General Hospital and appeared on an episode of the Fox hit Glee earlier this year. He is now looking to return to television on a more regular basis.
Currently starring on Broadway in the musical Evita, it was announced Monday that Martin has signed a talent holding deal with NBCUniversal.
He will see be developing his own starring network TV vehicle but few other details were given.
‘Ricky is an iconic superstar who is as talented as he is popular,’ Universal TV Executive Vice President Bela Bajaria said in a statement. ‘Whether he’s performing before sold-out concert crowds, or starring on Broadway, Ricky connects with his audience in a very palpable way and we are thrilled that he will be adding TV star to his incredible resume.’

He might be a good talk show host very charmingly likable and genuine. Just ovoid the Oprah like shtick get great producers and writers be innovative. And please don’t invite Madonna to be your first guest…but then who’s left?
