“Real World” cast member Dustin Zito’s gay porn past reveal leads to biggest ratings for show in 3 years

I’m a little long in the tooth to watch MTV’s The Real World anymore (Give me those crazy Real Housewives of New York instead!) but lots of people tuned in to the most recent episode which featured cast member Dustin Zito revealing his secret past as a gay porn star.

The episode averaged more than 2.5 million total viewers, its most-watched telecast in three years, and was No. 1 in its time slot in the persons 12-34 demographic on Wednesday.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, co-creator Jonathan Murray said, “The Real World is still a bit of an experiment. I definitely think young people are more comfortable with their sexuality and expressing it than they were in 1992 — or at least more comfortable expressing it on television.”
