View this post on Instagram The first time we met we sat at a table and talked for almost 4 hours. We remembered and we reminisced. We honored those that we had lost and we celebrated those that remained. We drank tea and we laughed. We held each other. And we wept. We wept deep and hard and for a very long time. The first time we met we saw each other in each other‘s eyes. It was over two decades ago and the two of us have been fighting a disease that took every one of our friends and twisted their bodies and maligned their spirits and left them in a pile of blackness covered in a sheet of bloody history. He and I remember it well because we were there and we bore witness. To the horror of it all and strangely to the heroics as well. The first time Larry and I met was the spark of a love that is powerful and ever life-changing. And I am better for it. And I am here because of him. Because of his grit and determination and tenacity and humor and wit and Grace and intelligence. He is one of our great leaders. And he is one of my great friends. And I am truly blessed. The very first time Larry and I met, I fell in love. And I have been in love ever since. #transrightsarehumanrights #lgbtpride #heroes #queericon #resist #lockhimup #trumpisatraitor #vote A post shared by Alexandra Billings Official (@therealalexandrabillings) on Nov 4, 2018 at 8:31am PST
