Raquel Welch has died at age 82

Raquel Welch died this morning after a brief illness at the age of 82, according to TMZ.

Maybe because she was still so beautiful and youthful looking, it feels like such a shock.

I never met Miss Welch or even saw her in person but like so many fans, enjoyed her in all kinds of movies and TV shows including Kansas City Bomber and The Three Musketeers as a kid. Later, I really enjoyed her in the TV series C.P.W. which was initially known as Central Park West. She was a HOOT in that show which aired in the mid-1990s.

While known as a sex symbol in such movies as One Million Years B.C., she displayed her dramatic chops in such TV movies as The Legend of Walks Far Woman, Right To Die and Scandal in a Small Town. She was also a sensation on Broadway when she took Lauren Bacall’s place in Woman of the Year in the early 1980s.
