R.I.P. Martin Milner, star of “Adam 12″

I grew up watching Martin Milner as Adam 12′s Pete Malloy, the senior officer who showed that young cutie Jim Reed (Kent McCord) the ropes of law enforcement as they patrolled the streets of Los Angeles for seven seasons.

Milner, also well-known for the hit series Route 66, died Sunday night at the age of 83.

The actor had been in ill health in recent years and last appeared onscreen in a 1997 episode of Diagnosis Murder.

Here’s a link to an obit in Variety.

2 Remarks

  1. First role I became familiar with was the 15-year-old Martin Milner as John Day in the delightful 1947 film “Life With Father” starring William Powell, Irene Dunne and an already lovely teenage Elizabeth Taylor. He was very good in that film as he was in every other role and is one of the all too few child actors who gained even greater stardom as an adult.

  2. I often tell people that I knew I was gay due to my Starchy & Hutch fantasies. But, TBT my earliest bliss came from watching these two on screen. I was just too young to realize what those feelings meant. My condolences to the Milner family.
