Quote of the Day from a true hero, Jimmy Carter
One of the people I admire most in the world is former President Jimmy Carter and I think his wise words and integrity are things that are sorely needed right now with all this Trump nonsense and all the rest of the soullessness of the presidential race at this point.
The 90-year-old Carter has been diagnosed with cancer which has been found in his brain and other areas. He gave a remarkable press conference last week (see video below) that spoke volumes about what kind of man he is.
His post-presidency has been astonishing.
Between his work through The Carter Center monitoring elections around the world and so much more, building homes through Habitat For Humanity, writing numerous books, teaching Sunday school 40 weeks a year and all the rest, he still regards as his greatest accomplishment his 67 year marriage to Rosalynn.
President Carter was also the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 “for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.”
Sending out good thoughts to a man who has had such a life well lived.
