Video: Pro bowler Scott Norton kisses husband on television after dramatic tournament win
The PBA Chameleon Championship in Las Vegas took place in November but it wasn’t until last Sunday that it was telecast on ESPN.
Viewers saw Scott Norton, who was seeded third, win the event over Jason Belmonte. But they also saw something else: A sobbing Norton was seen affectionately sharing a kiss and emotional embrace with husband Craig Woodward after his victory.
By that time, it came as no surprise to viewers that the men were a couple since commentator had referred to Woodward as Norton’s spouse several times during the telecast in a matter-of-fact fashion.
This may have been the first time ESPN has showcased any gay male athlete in this way, according to Outsports.com.
The victory marked Norton’s second win on the Pro Bowlers Association Tour.
