President Obama presents Linda Ronstadt with National Medal of the Arts at White House ceremony
You know I’m crazy about Linda Ronstadt so I’m mystified that I would miss this story from a few days ago.
I hope Linda understands.
Anyway, the great star was at The White House on Monday where she was presented with a National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama.
As he hung the medal around her neck, Obama told the crowd: `I had a little crush on her back in the day.’
(Well, one of Linda’s signature songs is I’ve Got a Crush on You from one of her three albums of standards.)
It’s nice to see these photos of Linda there in person to accept this honor. She was unable to attend her own induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year because Parkinson’s disease can limit her ability to travel.
She was one of 12 people this year to receive the nation’s highest award given to artists and their patrons.
