Peter Mac’s Supper Club splits from French Market in WeHo, moving to Oil Can Harry’s in Studio City
I’ve written several times about what a wonderful time I’ve had at The French Market in West Hollywood taking in Peter Mac’s Judy Garland tribute show as well as his Liza Minnelli tribute show.
Well, just found out Peter has had an ugly split with the restaurant and will be relocating Peter Mac Supper Club to Oil Can Harry’s in Studio City.
There are some accusations going back and forth. I read a press release from Peter’s partner DJ Schaefer and watched a YouTube video from Peter and also talked to the management of French Market.
I don’t even want to wade into it.
But what I do want to do is wish Peter, a true talent, the best of luck at the new venue and smooth sailing. The new shows are Judy & Company and The Golden Girls and beginning in October 2012, they will be performed in a specially designed, cabaret themed space in Oil Can Harry’s upstairs loft.

Sportsfan says:
Smart move. Whether this had any bearing, the French Market which always had free parking for patrons started charging fees when the supper club began. That caused many disgruntled diners. If so, good that this situation has been resolved.
Lacey says:
Not a fan. I had seen this weeks ago and know why it was canned. I don’t think it had anything to do other than with the quality of the show. The singing was horrindous. What a joke…
Greg Hernandez says:
Lacey, it’s spelled ‘horrendous.’ You are entitled to your opinion but you lose credibility when you say the singing was bad. Peter Mac is an undeniable talent no matter what happened with the folks at French Market.
