Pat Sajack assumes engaged “Wheel of Fortune” contestant was marrying a woman – he was not
It’s 2014 and same-sex marriage is now legal in 19 US states with several others in legal limbo. So Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajack would be well-served to not assume all of his contestants are heterosexual.
Contestant T.K. Klotz appeared on the show this week and put on his contestant questionnaire that he’s recently engaged. Sajak brought up a “Some woman who agreed to marry you” while introducing him, according to Deadspin.
Klotz corrected him: “Some gentleman.”
Klotz posted this comment in Deadspin: “Pat actually apologized to me during commercial break. He may be outspoken about homosexuality but when confronted with it head on he was very nice.”
Sajack is well known to be a right-wing conservative and angered some back in April when he appeared to be mocking the courage of LGBT people who have come out of the closet by tweeting: “Damn the career consequences! I’m hereby proclaiming my heterosexuality!”
