Maxwell Caulfield (Grease 2), Davis Gaines (Broadway’s Phantom in Phantom of the Opera), Robert Gant (Queer as Folk) and special guest Juliet Mills join 108 productions for a one-night-only staged reading of Terrence McNally’s play Some Men, which chronicles the history of the gay movement over the past 80 years.

The event takes place on Saturday, June 4.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the “I AM Love” Campaign and the completion funds for the upcoming documentary Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption.

As an extension of the play and film, the “I AM Love” Campaign was formed to help combat bullying and homophobia in a peaceful and loving way.  Through screenings of the film and further productions of the play, the company will conduct educational and arts-based workshops in less tolerant communities around the country.

Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption follows the 108 Productions company who revived Terrence McNally’s play Corpus Christi, (the Passion Play centered around a young gay Jesus), 5 years ago in a small church in North Hollywood to critical acclaim.

They went on to tour around the world with McNally’sunequivocal support as they began to realize the equal rights movement they were being thrust within.  The documentary follows them on tour, along with equal voices of protesters and supporters, to places where bigotry and homophobia are more prevalent.

Through the lens of the play we follow the journey on a larger societal exploration of civil rights, gay marriage, gun control and separation of church and state- a journey that became a life-changing experience for cast and audience alike.

The documentary is now in final post production edits before finally being released on a special tour later this year.  But before it’s been released or even seen by the general public, there has been a huge outcry from those against the premise of the film.  In addition to a 50,000+ member Facebook group page protesting the film, the company has received countless vehement emails, volatile letters and even death threats as people all over the country work to ban the film from release.
