On the TV icon’s 95th birthday, a spotlight on Betty White’s singing through the years

Of course she’s best known for her brilliant comedy timing and her long runs on the TV sitcoms The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Hot in Cleveland.

But Betty White, who turns 95 today, has been on television on a regular basis since the late 1940s as host of Hollywood on Television which led to her first sitcom, Life With Elizabeth.

In those early years, Betty sang plenty and she sings well. I’m sharing with you some of the clips available from those early TV days as well as later clips from talk shows and more. Especially fun is the little number with Bea Arthur in the 1970s – this clearly is before her future Golden Girls co-star developed her famous dislike of Miss White.

On that note, happy birthday Betty!
