Olympic rower denies having erection during medal ceremony: ‘I would’ve tried harder to cover it up with the flowers’
It really did seem unlikely that someone would get that excited about winning a bronze medal at the Olympic Games.
But that’s what plenty of folks thought after this photo of spandex wearing American rower Henrik Rummel went viral over the weekend.
It looks like he’s erect but Rummel assures Gawker that he was not.
“This is a recurring problem with rowers,” he says. “The spandex doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination and there are many unflattering awards dock photos out there. I haven’t heard of any erections occurring on the podium.”
He laughed when he found out his penis had gone viral: ‘The internet is a mysterious place, and I would’ve never thought I’d become more famous for wearing spandex than for winning an Olympic medal!’
