Neil Patrick Harris calls National Enquirer “Cray Cray.’ Says he and David Burtka have not set wedding date
You gotta love this.
Neil Patrick Harris (who should have been hosting the Oscars this year IMO) is on a cruise with longtime love David Burtka.
But he got wind of a National Enquirer story and decided to take to Twitter and set the record straight.
He tweets: ‘The Nat Enq is cray cray. We’ve never had a wedding date, just engaged (Prop 8 and all). We’re on a cruise as I write. He’s rad. All good.’
And there you are.
I wish all stars could be this direct and level-headed about things like this!
UPDATE: The Enquirer story alleges that the pair had a ‘vicious lover’s spat’ and quotes a source as saying: ‘They’re barely speaking, and as of now there’s no wedding in the immediate future.’

I don’t even know why the National Enquirer even tries. They’ve been sued so many times for false stories. Out of all the entertainment magazines their the worst.

Being in the public eye must be so tiring. They have as much right as any couple to quarrel and discuss and what not –physical violence excluded- from time to time. I don’t know if this gossip has any merit, but per se doesn’t account to news. Personally is –and was- my personal –and subjective- impression that even if they love each other, they clash because Neil seems to be very pragmatic and logical while David seems to be all emotions and prone to traditional society mandates (as that he mentioned to Oprah: “a real family is when the offspring outnumber the parents”, though don’t remember the exact words, that was the concept), so David could be pressing to have a wedding, his wedding, after the children.
