NBC orders “The New Normal” from Ryan Murphy about blended family created by gay couple
NBC has given the green light to the sitcom The New Normal from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy and co-executive producer Allison Adler.
The comedy focuses on a blended family created by a gay couple (played by Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha) and a surrogate mother.
Rannells is best known for his role in the smash Broadway musical The Book of Mormon which earned him an Tony Award nomination.
Bartha has had key roles in two successful movie franchises: The Hangover and its sequel and National Treasure and its sequel.
Also in the cast are Georgia King, Bebe Wood, and Ellen Barkin.
