My night with the “Queer Eye” guys – old and new!
Had a terrific time last night at a splashy screening at Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood and after-party across the street at Catch for the reboot of Queer Eye which premiered yesterday on Netflix.
It’s been fifteen years since the original Emmy Award-winning series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy premiered on Bravo. It has returned with a new Fab Five: Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming) and Tan France (Fashion).
Absolutely loved the episode they showed us. It focused on a gay man whose home was a mess and who dressed to hide his buff body because he was closeted at work and to his family. His journey was inspiring and deeply moving and the new cast is just as charming and attractive as the originals – four of whom were at last night’s event. A highlight for me was having my photo with Kyan Douglas taken by Carson Kressley. Love the solidarity between the original cast and the new one. Also present were Jai Rodriguez and Thom Filicia. Among the guests at the event were former Noah’s Arc castmates Darryl Stephens and Wilson Cruz who I am just crazy about.
Am very excited about this version of the show and urge to catch it on Netflix ASAP – binge watch!
