My morning Joe Manganiello sighting
I had finished my glass of carrot-orange juice at Cafe Tropical and got up from the table from where I was working to order some coffee (okay, and a guava empanada – don’t judge me!) and there he was.
This six-foot, five-inch television and movie hunk named Joe Manganiello.
I’d seen him before, at the HRC gala in March, and even asked him a question on the red carpet about his college pal Matt Bomer. But he was wearing a suit that day.
This morning, he was in his workout clothes and those famous biceps were on full display.
Oh my.
I was in line behind him so, of course, I snapped a photo. But I didn’t want to get all fan-like on him in that situation. And yet, I had to be sure it was him. So as I stood up to order, he was still at counter and I asked him, “Are you Joe?” He said, “Yeah,” and that was that.
Or so I thought.
A few minutes later, I was over at a side table putting some sugar in my coffee and Joe came up to me and said, “Hey, what’s your name?”
I said, “Greg.”
He said, “Hey Greg” then stuck out his hand to do a little knuckle bump.
Then he was off. I returned to my table and, of course, quickly announced our encounter of Facebook!
I really am just a great big fan!

A fist bump with joe is cool. Lucky you!
Eventually he will learn who you are so be ready foe the nex encounter.

I met Joe a couple of times awhile back — very gracious and self effacing, not at all a macho jerk.
Your encounter is a lesson to all of us: introduce yourself to the celeb as if he were a person. When Joe later asked your name, he humanized the encounter.

I Love how you got a back shot! He does look kinda sweaty! But, HEY! He’s still such a hunk! Any way I could totally just like, follow you around all the time?
Tessa says:
Typical Joe style. One of the reasons his wolfpack adores him.
