MTV Movie Award nominations: Sean Penn and James Franco are contenders in the best kiss category

I’ve sat through a few MTV Movie Award shows in years past and my eardrums are still ringing. But hey, they are an excuse to get a buncha stars to come out and high-five a buncha young fans on their way to present or accept an award. This show makes pretty much anyone look cool.

But really, they mean nothing!

That said, the MTV Movie Awards have often included same-sex smooches in its “Best Kiss” category so that’s nice to see. This year is no exception. Sean Penn and James Franco from Milk and Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon from I Love You, Man will be vying for kissing honors with Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy in Wanted, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel in Slumdog Millionaire and Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

And here is the smooch between Rudd and Lennon which does not have any passion and deserves to lose!

I know the suspense is just killing you but you will have to wait to find out the winner on May 31 when the show airs live on MTV.
