“CALL ME BY YOUR NAME” has the largest worldwide following as shown in many major European city appearances by cast members. It’s late release in the US shouldn’t negatively impact consideration by The Academy, or the many critics who are quick to repeat the Golden Globe Nominated winners. Nor should Elio’s sexuality bar it from Best Picture. It’s 2 yrs after the 6/26/15 Supreme Court Ruling & this film has an enormous following, equal to nominees for Best Pic. It must win Best Adaptive Screenplay, Best Song & clearly Best Actor for Timothée Chalamet (age is irrelevant). And it should be a very serious contender for Best Picture! Cross your fingers for the Oscars!!!!!
