Morning Man Encore: Leonardo DiCaprio!

I thought Leonardo DiCaprio gave the performance of his career in J Edgar. Then I saw The Wolf of Wall Street.

This stupendous superstar won a well-deserved Golden Globe Award last night for his performance in Wolf and should be getting an Oscar nomination for his efforts.

He gave such a gracious and thoughtful speech last night and it reminds you that this man is a consummate professional.

It was his second Globe win (the other was for The Aviator) and his ninth nomination.

So many great performances in such films as Blood Diamond (Oscar nomination), Django Unchained, The Aviator (Oscar nomination), The Departed, Revolutionary Road, Gangs of New York, Catch Me if You Can, Titanic, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (Oscar nomination), Marvin’s Room and Total Eclipse among others,

Last year’s The Great Gatsby was not my favorite performance but it was not torture to watch Leo looking so handsome throughout.

DiCaprio is just 39 and my bet is he will be appearing in several future classics, will win and Oscar or two along the way, and end up on of the biggest movie stars in the history of Hollywood.

One Remark

  1. Leo is a throw back to classic old time Hollywood. He has the look and the class. In my opinion, he should have a whole lot more Oscar nominations under his belt by now.
