Morning Man Encore: Chris Pine!

Today is Chris Pine’s 36th birthday. In honor of that occasion, here is a rerun of a post I did on January 28, 2016: Was at dinner in Silver Lake last night with two of my pals and the subject of Chris Pine came up because I had just seen his latest film The Finest Hours the night before.

We were trying to think of movies Chris has been in besides the super successful Star Trek franchise and realized the biggest reason we love this handsome guy with the beautiful blue eyes is from the tear that rolled down his cheek at the Oscars last year during John Legend and Common‘s powerful performance of the song Glory from the civil rights-era drama Selma.

Chris, whose other films include Into the Woods and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, is very good in The Finest Hours which tells the true story of when The Coast Guard makes a daring rescue attempt off the coast of Cape Cod after a pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard in 1952.

The movie opens tomorrow.

Bottle Shock , a movie from 2008 , is worth watching. It depicts the first time California wines beat French wines. Bill Pullman and Alan Rickman.
