Morning Man Classic: Patrick Rafter!
I nominate Patrick Rafter as the hottest male tennis pro to have never won Wimbledon. But oh, he came close. The sexy Aussie lost epic finals to Pete Sampras (2000) and to Goran ivanišević (2001). To make it to those finals, Rafter beat Andre Agassi both years in epic semifinal matches. He had lost to Agassi in a third epic semifinal in 1999. Rafter briefly held the number one ranking in 1999. He did know how to win on the big occasions though as he was the US Open champion in 1997 and again in 1998. He was also the Australian Open doubles champion in 1999. Now 44, Rafter was the third man in the Open Era to reach semifinals or better of every Grand Slam tournament in both singles and doubles, after Rod Laver and Stefan Edberg, and remains the last man to date to accomplish this.
