Morning Man Classic: Omar Sharif!

Am heading back out for a day at the TCM Classic Film Festival – I wish it could last forever.

So far I’ve seen Lenny, The Cincinatti Kid, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Norma Rae and, for the first time ever, Doctor Zhivago. I write that despite the predictable comments it elicits: ‘You NEVER seen it?’

What a way to see it though: Big screen at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It was about four hours with intermission and overture and I am just in love with Julie Christie and this extraordinarily handsome man, Omar Sharif.

4 Remarks

  1. And he also has a very handsome (and gay) son!

  2. I saw Funny Girl for the first time last year and yeah, wow he’s handsome:) I’m glad to see him make one of your morning men (I love your series:)

    K. Martinez says:

Yes, Doctor Zhivago is fantastic on the big screen. I’m a huge fan of David Lean’s films, from his old black and whites to his later sweeping epics. Sounds like you’re having a blast.

  4. I am quite certain that Omar Sharif Jr. is actually his grandson and yes he identifies as gay.

You did not mention “Funny Girl”, one of Omar’s most famous roles. He actually did a very good job starring with mega force Barbra Streisand. “Funny Girl” (the film) will celebrate it’s 50th anniversary in 2018! I will never forget watching Barbra for the first time on the BIG screen!
