Morning Man Classic: Nick Nolte!
There is an infamous DUI mug shot of Nick Nolte that went a long ways toward erasing people’s memories of the gorgeous blue-eyed blond young actor who first made people swoon on the classic ABC miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man.
He became a bonafide sex symbol went on to become a very big movie star in such films as The Deep, North Dallas Forty, 48 hours, Down and Out in Beverly Hills and The Prince of Tides.
Tides resulted in his first Academy Award nomination for best actor and the attention from that film resulted in Nolte, then 51, being named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1992.
Since then, Nolte has segued into mostly character roles in such films as The Red Thin Line, The Hulk, Hotel Rwanda, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Tropic Thunder and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Nolte, who turns 70 on Feb. 8, plays Jennifer Garner’s father in the remake of Arthur to be released later this year and has a role in the upcoming cable series, Luck, centered around characters who are tied to the same horse-racing track.
