WATCH: ‘Moonlight’ wins best picture Oscar after ‘La La Land’ mistakenly announced as best picture
Will take awhile to process this: Moonlight won the best picture Oscar tonight over the front-runner La La Land. But presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty mistakenly announced La La Land as the winner and speeches were given by the film’s producers. Then it was learned the wrong winner was announced. Host Jimmy Kimmel quipped: ‘I blame Steve Harvey.’ Harvey last year announced the wrong name as Miss Universe. UPDATE: It seems that Beatty and Dunaway were given the wrong envelope – they were given the best actress envelope which said Emma Stone La La Land. When Beatty hesitated, Dunaway read La La Land as the winner. She told The Hollywood Reporter at the Governors Ball: “No, I’m not going to speak about it.”

Yes, it will take awhile to process it. I was so disappointed when “La La Land’ was announced as the winner and that I almost turned off the televikion, but then there was the interruption and that an error was made in the winner announcement. I was so happy that “Moonlight” won! AWESOME!!
