‘The sex is better!’ the 53 year old tells AARP Magazine. ‘Seriously, I’m healthier and in loving myself I attract a different kind of person now.’

That person right now is Etheridge’s new wife Linda Wallem who she married in May.

Melissa has a new album, This is M.E., which comes out on Tuesday.

While in a happy period now, Melissa has had her share of hardship including a battle with breast cancer and an ugly split from ex Tammy Lynn Michaels with whom she has two children.

Melissa also has two children with another ex, Julie Cypher.

‘If I could have, I would have chosen not to go through cancer or my divorces in public,’ she says.

‘Yet you can’t say, “I’m only going to let the public see the good stuff.” Whenever I sit down with someone, I need to know that I’m not hiding anything.’
