Mega-talented Tom Goss launches Kickstarter campaign to fund latest music videos
A few weeks ago, I had a lovely lunch with singer-songwriter Tom Goss at Kitchen 24 in West Hollywood.
We talked about his latest album, What Doesn’t Break, which is a deeply personal collection of songs – some of which I saw him perform live at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood (second photo).
Tom is the real deal, an artist with such heart and soul and a voice that can really tell a story.
Music videos portraying the LGBT experience are a priority for Tom which we saw in his 2015 music videos Son of a Preacher Man and Breath & Sound.
Now he’s ready to do more and has just kicked off a Kickstarter campaign to finance some new videos.
I’m happy to spread the word because I know they will be top notch.
‘Telling these stories matters,’ Tom writes. ‘They help show LGBT youth that there is a world out there for them, a world full of beauty and love. Our videos also impact LGBT allies, moving them to take action in ways they might not have done before. They change the hearts and minds of those that previously believed that the LGBT experience was a choice and something to look down upon.’
Here is information about the next two videos Tom has in the works:
More Than Temporary: A collaboration with San Francisco-based artist Chris Turner, “More Than Temporary” tells the story of those that tend to be the most overlooked in our own community: LGBT seniors. Through the eyes of a young man, falling in love for the first time, we see the beauty and strength of those that have come before us. Those that have endured discrimination and fought for the rights we take for granted today. “More than Temporary” aims to show people around the world that the LGBT community is home to many vibrant and long-lasting relationships and prove that our love stories are just as inspirational, if not more so, as any others. We are slated to shoot the video in San Francisco at the end of October 2016.
The Thing About Love: This is my most ambitious video yet! It will be a unique “choose your own adventure” style video, where viewers customize the video by selecting the characters, settings, and scenes as they search for love. “The Thing About Love” will highlight the sameness in everyone’s search for love—regardless of age, race, gender, or orientation. We’re slated to shoot May 2017.
Tom has a fundraising goal of $20,000 so let’s help hm get there! To donate, click HERE.
