Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto win acting prizes at Golden Globes for “Dallas Buyers Club”
So happy to see the stars of Dallas Buyers Club win Golden Globe Awards tonight.
Jared Leto, as expected, won the best supporting actor prize for his portrayal of a transgender woman named Rayon who is dying from AIDS.
‘To the Rayons of the world, thanks for the inspiration,’ Leto told the star-studded crowd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
He explained that he didn’t use any Prosthetics for the role (‘The tiny little Brazilian bubble butt was all mine’) and waxed nearly his entire body including his eyebrows (I was fortunate I didn’t have to do a full Brazilian).
The actor has been focusing in recent years on his hugely successful music career – he is lead singer for the band 30 Seconds to Mars.
‘I didn’t make a film for almost six years, I was pursuing other dreams,’ he explained. ‘It’s an honor to come back and have this love and support. I never expected it. I never even dreamed of it.’
Leto is considered a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination as he has now won 25 awards for the film.
The film’s leading man, Matthew McConaughey, won the Globe for best actor in a motion picture-drama.
