Matt Bomer and partner Simon Halls to be honored by GLSEN for their commitment to family

It was at an awards ceremony in Palm Springs last February that Matt Bomer publicly thanked his longtime partner, publicist Simon Halls, and their three children for the first time.

In October, he will be accepting another award – this time with Halls, a well-known Hollywood publicist whose clients include Ridley Scott, Sam Mendes, Ang Lee, Tom Ford, Jude Law, and Annette Bening.

The couple is being honored by The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network at the group’s eighth annual Respect Awards in Beverly Hills. GLSEN is the leading US education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students.

Bomer and Halls will be presented with GLSEN’s Inspiration Award at the Beverly Hills Hotel on 5 October.

‘Both Matt and I are incredibly impressed by the great work that GLSEN does for kids who might normally not have somewhere to turn,’ Halls tells The Hollywood Reporter. ‘Even in this day and age, LGBT kids still need all the support that we can give them. We are both very humbled to be receiving this honor.’

Also being honored by GLSEN are DreamWorks Animation co-founder and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and his wife Marilyn Katzenberg.

‘GLSEN is thrilled to honor these incredible supporters who have worked to advance our vision to make schools safe and affirming for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression,’ director Eliza Byard said in a statement.

2 Remarks

  1. I adore Matt Bomer. He gives so much time to his charities. I hated what transpired this week. I want to see him in a lead role on the big screen where he belongs!

  2. Matt is my fav….but Simon is little too old for him, don’t ya think?

    anyway, congrats!
