Lunch Break Videos: Legendary Rose Marie turns 90 today – see memories of her amazing career

I want to send a big birthday shout out today to one our true national treasures: Rose Marie who turns 90 today!

The performer best known for her years as Sally Rogers on The Dick Van Dyke Show and for her many, many years on Hollywood Squares is still getting around, is as opinionated as ever and I think she’s a hoot.

I interviewed her 6-7 years ago when I was at the Daily News and told her it was for my page 2 column. She said to me in her husky voice: “Why don’t you put me on the cover for once?”

She was not kidding!

But after the article came out – and not on the cover – I got the nicest, most thoughtful typed letter from her that I still cherish.

Anyway, what a career Rose Marie has had!

She was a child star who toured in vaudville, she’s been on Broadway, performed in all the big clubs, done movies and tons of television.
